ABILENE, TX — The Abilene-Taylor County Health District reported three COVID deaths and 161 news cases (102 PCR, 59 antigen) on Friday.
The people who died are:
- female in her 50s
- female in her 70s with preexisting conditions
- male in his 80s with preexisting conditions
A total of 235 people have died from COVID in Taylor County.
There were 107 recoveries on Friday.
The number of active cases is 2,576 with 132 of those in the hospital.
As of Thursday, 21.78% of the people hospitalized in Trauma Service Area “D” were hospitalized for COVID-19.
Trauma Service Area “D” includes Brown, Callahan, Coleman, Comanche, Eastland, Fisher, Haskell, Jones, Knox, Mitchell, Nolan, Shackleford, Stephens, Stonewall, Taylor and Throckmorton counties.
Restrictions — such as bar closures and reduced restaurant capacity — will not be lifted until the area is below 15% COVID hospital capacity for seven straight days.
