TEXAS – Texas State is requiring all students and staff to be tested for COVID before heading back to campus from the holidays.
In a letter, Interim Vice President for Student Affairs Dr. Mary Ellen Cavitt reminded the students of two critical steps they need to follow as members of the university community: Limit contact with persons outside of the immediate household and practice strict social distancing guidelines for 10 days.
For students who are planning on returning to the residence halls or attend in-person classes on January 19 are asked to limit contact and social distance starting this week.
Dr. Cavitt is asking everyone to get a COVID-19 test within one week prior to coming back to the university, and make testing appointments now for next week to meet the deadline.
Students who test positive or are notified they are in close contact to a positive case should isolate for 10 days prior to returning to campus. If students miss the start of the semester, they should contact their instructors.
