ABILENE, TX — The Abilene-Taylor County Health District reported four COVID deaths and 147 new cases (97 PCR, 50 antigen) on Saturday.
The people who died are:
- Male in his 50s with underlying conditions
- Female in her 80s with underlying conditions
- Male in his 60s with underlying conditions
- Female in her 60s with underlying conditions
A total of 258 people have died from COVID in Taylor County.
There were 15 recoveries on Saturday.
The number of active cases is 2,698 with 117 of those in the hospital.
As of Saturday, 17.45% of the people hospitalized in Trauma Service Area “D” were hospitalized for COVID-19.
Hendrick had 131 COVID patients (110 Abilene, 21 Brownwood) and 0 ICU beds available.
Trauma Service Area “D” includes Brown, Callahan, Coleman, Comanche, Eastland, Fisher, Haskell, Jones, Knox, Mitchell, Nolan, Shackleford, Stephens, Stonewall, Taylor and Throckmorton counties.
Restrictions — such as bar closures and reduced restaurant capacity — will not be lifted until the area is below 15% COVID hospital capacity for seven straight days.
