ABILENE, TX — The Abilene Police Department is asking dealerships in the area, as well as from Amarillo, Snyder, Sweetwater, Eastland and other areas for assistance, as they may have been targeted by suspects attempting to steal vehicles.
An APD release said the department was made aware of two Hispanic males trying to steal a vehicle from south Abilene Wednesday.
The suspects initially pretended to be interested in purchasing the vehicle. They are accused of switching keys and possibly going back at another time to steal the vehicle.
The two suspects drove a white BMW with a black spoiler.
Keys from various vehicles were found during the investigations. Detective are trying to find the vehicles the keys or fobs belong to and return them.
