18-year-old Ezechiel Zougou of Abilene died after a car accident on Friday night in South Abilene, according to Abilene Police.

Police said Zougou was driving a 2021 Honda Civic.

They said he disregarded the stop sign and collided with a 2015 Chevrolet Silverado, driven by 51-year-old Franklin Shackelford of Clyde.

The truck landed in a ditch and the car far flipped on the sidewalk.

Police believe alcohol was not a factor in the accident.

Many are now going to social media asking for a stoplight at that location.

“What will it take for the city to actually put a real stop light up??,” commented Amin Sibul. “How many people will have to end up dying before it happens?”

The accident is under investigation.
