ABILENE, TX — Abilene Police detectives are investigating a homicide that happened at a home on the city’s north side late Wednesday.
According to an Abilene Police Department press release, at approximately 9 p.m. Wednesday, officers were called to a home in the 1800 block of University Boulevard for an injured person.
When officers arrived, the victim had been taken to the hospital with “obvious signs of trauma from a knife.”
The man, identified as Joseph Rogers, 26, of Abilene, was later pronounced dead at the hospital.
The release said the initial investigation shows there was an altercation between Rogers and a person possibly known to him.
Next of kin notification has been made.
APD said the investigation remains active and no arrests have been made.
