Abilene, TX – According to the statement, this unfortunate incident occurred around 10:40 a.m. Monday.
It happened in the 5000 block of Wagon Wheel Avenue.
When the first responders arrived on scene, they found smoke coming from the roof of the structure and were able to contain the fire to the attic.
The occupants were not home at the time of the fire.
The cause of the fire was a lightning strike on the roof.
Estimated damage is $20,000.
