MERKEL, TX — Derek Holdridge was arrested for shooting at the electric workers that were repairing an outage.

The Taylor County Sheriff’s Office said that he was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

The Taylor Electric workers were sent out on Wednesday to repair an outage. Then, reportedly, Holdridge came out of his house and started shooting into the air and then at the workers.
The Police deputies were looking for Holdridge and had to put a “secure lockout” at nearby schools in Merkel.

There were no injured in the incident.
