AUSTIN, Texas – According to the statement, the 15-year-old male has been charged with murder in the death of Kaylin Price and is currently being held at the Gardner Betts Juvenile Justice Center.
Austin Police Department officers responded to a shooting call at the bridge at E. 7th Street and southbound I-35.
When the officers arrived on scene, they found blood and several cartridge cases near the area, but no victims or injured persons.
After that, the officers received a call about victims located at West 18th Street and Colorado Street.
The officers found two victims.
One of them Kaylin Price. She was unresponsive and suffering from a gunshot wound.
The 21-year-old woman was pronounced dead on the scene. The second victim, a male who suffered a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to the leg, was transported to a local hospital.
Witnesses described a 15-year-old suspect that fired gunshots from the passenger side of a car and fled the scene after the shooting.
