Abilene PD makes arrests in connection to May 22 death of an infant

ABILENE, Texas — On May 22, the Abilene Police Department and Abilene paramedics responded to a home in the 5300 block of Taos Drive in southwest Abilene for reports an injured person.

According to an APD press release, upon arriving officers found an unresponsive 22-month-old who was later pronounced dead.

The Criminal Investigation Division was called to initiate an investigation. The investigation led to the parents, D’Airess Fuller and Teliea Thomas, both 24, being taken into custody Thursday.

Fuller and Thomas were transported to the Taylor County Jail and charged with first-degree injury to a child.

The investigation is ongoing and no further information was available at the time of the press release.
