ABILENE, TX — Abilene drivers should expect lane closures, detours and delays beginning Monday, Feb.1 through Wednesday, Feb. 3 on South Willis Street between South 32nd and South 20th streets.

According to a City of Abilene press release, road crews will be blocking off sections of the roadway as they apply the final paving surface on South Willis Street as part of its reconstruction project.

Drivers should expect South Willis Street to be reduced to one lane, one-way traffic while paving takes place.

Reconstruction on South Willis Street between South 32nd and South 14th streets is part of the City of Abilene’s 2015 bond program. The work is being completed by Bontke Brothers Construction of Abilene, for $1,667,841, the release said.

Anyone with questions about the project should contact the City of Abilene Engineering Services at 325-676-6281.
