ABILENE, TX — There will be no more jury trials for the rest of the year in Taylor County.
County Judge Downing Bolls canceled all jury selection and jury trials through Dec. 31.
Bolls cited the increase in COVID cases as the reason.
As of Thanksgiving — the last time cases were reported — there were 2,977 active cases with at least 106 of those in the hospital.
The Abilene-Taylor County Health District also reported 242 new cases — the second highest one-day total on record.
