Dyess AFB is increasing security until a wanted airman is caught.

Erland Injerd has been on the run since he scaled a fence Wednesday and ran into a wood area south of the base.

Col. Jose E. Sumangil said there is no specific threat against the Dyess community. However, they have increased Security Forces on base, especially in base housing, just in case.

Dyess also asks everyone to remain vigilant.

Injerd is described as a white male, short/shaved brown hair, approximately 5’8.” He was last seen wearing a long-sleeve black shirt with blue jeans.

If you see him on-base contact the Dyess Law Enforcement Desk at 325-696-2131 or the Command Post at 325-696-1921.

If off-base, please contact the Abilene Police Department at 325-673-8311 or 911.
