Crime & Safety Local resident was arrested for DWI and a weapons charge after he crashed into the back of a Dallas County Sheriff’s Office deputy’s vehicle early Sunday morning Published 4 years ago on May 31, 2021 By Christopher Duncan Writer Share Tweet DALLAS, TX – According to the police officials, the incident occurred around 1:15 a.m., along northbound I-35, at Mockingbird Lane. The driver of a white Ford sedan was swerving from lane to lane, before crashing into the back of a deputy’s vehicle. The police car had its overhead lights on and it was on the right shoulder for a traffic stop. After the crash, the police vehicle was knocked onto the service road. The 31-year-old man was trapped in the Ford and deputies broke the window to pull him out. Officers found a stolen handgun in the Ford’s front passenger seat. Emilio Araiza arrested for driving while intoxicated and unlawful carrying of a weapon. This story will be updated when new information is available.
