The Realtors association has been based for decades in a two-story, 30,000-square-foot office building on Stemmons Freeway in Northwest Dallas.
The new Irving headquarters will give the MetroTex Realtors more room, according to planning documents filed with the state. The planned building at 2101 Kinwest Parkway will contain almost 40,000 square feet and will cost more than $14 million.
Dallas architect BOKA Powell is designing the project.
Construction is set to start in March and will take about a year to complete, according to the state filings.
The MetroTex Association of Realtors is one of the largest in the country and is second in size in Texas to only the Houston Association of Realtors, which has more than 50,000 members.
