Police: 2 arrested for firing rifle in north Abilene neighborhood

Abilene police arrested two men accused of firing a rifle in a north Abilene neighborhood.

According to the arrest report, police responded to a shots fired call Friday afternoon at a home near Sears Park.

Police found “multiple spent .223 shell casings in the back yard.”

Damien Michael Martinez, 18, told police be recently bought a rifle and brought it to the home to shoot.

Martinez said he fired two rounds into the dirt before he handed it off to Jason Aguado, 24.

He said Aguado “continued to fire multiple rounds into the dirt as well.”

Martinez was charged with discharge of a firearm. He was released the same day on a $2,500 bond.

Aguado was charged with discharge of a firearm and failure to ID. He’s being held on a $3,500 bond.
