TX – Two Texas Republicans are attending a Dallas conference organized by a prominent QAnon conspiracy theorist.

Rep. Louie Gohmert and Texas GOP chairman Allen West are set to speak at the conference. And while organizer John Sabal claims it’s not a QAnon event, he goes by “QAnon John” online and the logo features a QAnon-affiliated slogan.

Vice News’ David Gilbert reports that the Memorial Day weekend conference “For God & Country Patriots Roundup” features a line-up of speakers including former national security adviser Michael Flynn and Trump’s former lawyer Sidney Powell, who have both publicly promoted QAnon-linked conspiracy theories.

West, a former congressman from Florida, was accused of nodding to QAnon conspiracy theorists when he changed Texas GOP’s slogan to, “We are the storm.” West has denied the slogan links to QAnon.

Gohmert has been a vocal supporter of former President Donald Trump and parroted his lies of a stolen election. Gohmert also opposed a resolution in the House condemning QAnon in 2020.

Sabal built a following under “QAnon John” before he was booted from Facebook and Twitter, the Dallas Observer’s Jacob Vaughn reports. He and his wife, Amy, are now trying to rebrand under “The Patriot Voice,” which is listed as the organizer for the conference. While Sabal has seemingly tried to distance the conference from QAnon, the logo shows an acronym that stands for “Where we go one, we go all,” a slogan widely used by QAnon followers.

The FBI has identified the QAnon movement as a domestic terrorism threat.

The event is taking place at Gilley’s Dallas and Omni Dallas Hotel, which is owned by the city of Dallas. A petition calling for the event’s cancellation has garnered nearly 1,500 signatures so far.
