ROCKWALL, TX – During today’s meeting of the Rockwall Rotary Club, the Children’s Advocacy Center for Rockwall County was presented with generous donations to support their efforts to help child victims of physical and sexual abuse in Rockwall County.

John Curtis, who serves as International Outreach Services chair on the Board of Directors for the Rockwall Rotary Club, announced to attendees that during a recent district conference, there was an opportunity to purchase bags of toys. He and his wife, Jane, purchased several gift bags to donate to the CAC.

“It’s a tremendous help,” said Patricia Mejia, President of the CAC, who was present to accept the toys. “You all don’t get to see the faces of the kids who actually come through our doors, but to have comfort items like this that they can play with or take with them is a great benefit, so thank you very much.”

Rotary member Nancy Parks (pictured above, center) also presented a check to the CAC on behalf of her husband, Dave, who works for L3 Harris. Every pay period, employees are given the opportunity to contribute money to an organization of their choice, and L3 Harris will match a portion of it.

“This is great way for L3 Harris to give back to the community, and for its employees to give back to the charity of their choice – and the money goes directly to the organization. Dave chose the CAC,” Nancy said. She presented the check to Rotarian Kenda Culpepper, Rockwall County District Attorney, who serves on the board of the CAC, along with CAC board members Sheriff Terry Garrett and Robin Chouteau.
