‘We don’t want to have to go to another funeral’: Abilene family mourns loss of mother

An Abilene family is one of hundreds in Taylor County who are grieving the loss of a loved one due to the coronavirus.

71-year-old Angelina Reyes’ laugh was so loud, her family jokes it would echo thorough-out the Grand Canyon.

“She was the funniest person,” said Reyes’ relative, Lisa Herrera.

Reyes was arguably the family’s best cook, but what people loved most about her was her selflessness.

“She would never turn anybody away,” said Reyes’ niece, Jennifer Wilson.

Reyes never turned anyone away, including someone who tested positive for the coronavirus in early December.
