ABILENE, TX — An Abilene police officer lost both of his parents to COVID within 12 days of each other.
Officer Adam Richardson’s dad, Glen, 66, died at Hendrick Medical Center on Dec. 11.
Then on Wednesday night, his mom, Charlene, 67, lost her battle with COVID. She had just been moved to the ICU and put on a ventilator that morning.
According to the City, Adam Richardson has been with APD since 2003.
“Our thoughts and prayers go out to one of our brothers in blue,” said the Abilene Police Officers Association.
The APOA started a GoFundMe page to help the Richardson family cover any medical and funeral expenses.
