ABILENE, TX – The Abilene Freedom Festival is back as a two-day event, taking place July 3rd and 4th. While some of the activities will remain the same, one of the changes/additions should really hit you in the feels this year.
In 2021, all First Responders, Active Military and Frontline Workers (such as medical personnel) will get in free to all events. Please bring your proper I.D. In addition, everyone will get in free July 3rd for the Independence Day celebrations in Downtown Abilene. [Abilene Freedom Festival]
The “Downtown Celebration” will be held on July 3rd…in Downtown Abilene. Best of all, it’s free of charge for the entire public. There will be live music, food trucks, lots of shopping/vendors, a parade, and so much more. Downtown Abilene also boasts a number of amazing restaurants and bars, so you can expect an amazing night on the 3rd.
Then, on July 4th, the celebration will move to the Taylor County Expo Center grounds. Like the previous day, you’ll get to enjoy a number of Abilene’s favorite food trucks. There will be a bunch of vendors as well as an awesome kid’s play area. If that wasn’t enough, you can expect performances by superstars like Neal McCoy, Chris Colston, and Jerrod Medulla. Doors open at 4pm and the music starts at 5pm.
