ABILENE,TX – An Abilene man was arrested Saturday morning after hitting and killing a man on with his car, according to Abilene Police.
Around 1:45 a.m., police said they responded to a call along Winters Fwy. after a driver called dispatch, stating he believed he hit a person with his car.
Police said they found a man’s body near Southwest Drive and the southbound side of Winters Fwy. near the onramp.
Abilene Police identified 24-year-old Mark Burrow as the man who was killed.
Sources tell KTXS Burrow was an Abilene High graduate who was attending Texas Tech University.
As for the driver, police said he made the phone call to dispatch on his way to a home in the Lytle South area.
30-year-old Nicholas Mills of Abilene was arrested and charged with intoxicated manslaughter and failure to stop and render aid — both second degree felony charges.
Abilene Police said they will continue to investigate.
