Abilene, TX – According to the health officials, there has been a significant increase in COVID-19 cases this month.
The velocity of increase in cases exceeds what we experienced at the beginning of the year, that is when Abilene was at its worst.
There has been a 159% increase in the number of cases in the past month.
Since July 1st, the positivity rate went from less than 1% to over 5%.
Hospitalization rates with the 15% threshold, went from below 1% to near 4%.
We’re in trouble way before we hit 15% locally just because we have limited resources with our ICU.
