Grandmother of Abilene murder victim speaks about the stabbing in back alley

Benny Rogers, the grandmother of Joseph Rogers tells KTXS her grandson was stabbed in the back ally of her home.

“He just came to the door, call an ambulance I have been stabbed,” said Rogers.

Police responded to a home in the 1700 block of University Blvd. on May 5 at 9 p.m.

“He lived with me and my son (Joseph’s uncle) who’s in a wheelchair to help us,” said Rogers.

The grandmother says that Joseph Rogers was working in construction. He was building a ramp on the back porch for his grandmother and uncle.

The family is in shock and has no clue who stabbed Joseph.

The family says Joseph Rogers graduated from Eastland High School.

There have been no arrests made.
