POTOSI, TX — On Wednesday, multiple firefighting agencies were called in, as a grass fire spread around a nearby home in Potosi neighborhood, south of Abilene.

When the firefighters arrived, a nearby storage building behind the home was filled with smoke and explosions could be heard.

Buffalo Gap, Eula, Jim Ned and Potosi fire departments are battling the fire at the scene.

It remains unknown if there are injured persons, the cause of the fire and how much damage the fire caused.

Multiple fires occurred in less than one week after the Taylor County burn ban was lifted on Feb.3rd.

The Taylor County Commissioners say an emergency meeting is planned for Thursday afternoon to reinstate the burn ban.
