ABILENE, TX — Abilene police are investigating a deadly accident between a pedestrian and a vehicle on S. 1st Street.
It happened at 10:15 p.m. near Leggett Drive.
Police said the driver of a Mitsubishi Galant was headed east on S. 1st when they hit a pedestrian crossing the road.
Police said the man, who appears to be homeless, was wearing dark clothing.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
His name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
“Although it is unknown if alcohol was a factor in this collision, blood specimens were obtained from both the driver and the pedestrian,” said police.
