The suspect in the 2016 murder of Abilene real estate agent Thomas Niblo pleaded not guilty.

Luke Sweetser entered the plea and waived his right to arraignment on Jan. 21.

His attorney, Lynn Ingalsbe, also asked for the case to be set for trial.

Niblo was shot December 12, 2016 in the bedroom of his home on Woodridge Drive.

Sweetser was arrested two days after the murder for theft of a firearm.

He’s accused of stealing some guns recovered during the course of the murder investigation.
