Three men arrested in two separate child sex crimes cases

ABILENE, TX — Abilene Police Department Special Victim Unit detectives arrested two men following an investigation of a sexual assault of a child.

Eugene Dwight Thomas, 30, was charged with second-degree felony sexual assault of a child. Javonte R. James, 27, is charged with second-degree felony sexual assault of a child.

Bond for each suspect was set at $52,000. These two arrests stem from the same investigation.

In a separate investigation, SVU detectives arrested Christopher Lance Norris, 31, and charged him with first-degree felony continuous sexual abuse of a child. Bond for Norris was set at $75,000. This investigation is ongoing, according to the APD news release.

Child Protective Services assists APD in the investigations of crimes against children. Because of the nature of the crimes and the age of the victims, no further information may be released.
