Travis County COVID-19 vaccine tracker: 28% people fully vaccinated

ABILENE, TX – Travis County has administered more than 861,138 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine, as of April 20, according to data from the Texas Department of State Health Services.

That’s up 22% from the previous week’s tally of 703,095 COVID-19 doses administered.

In Travis County, 28% of people living in Travis County are fully vaccinated as of April 20. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention considers someone fully vaccinated two weeks after they’ve been given a single-dose shot (Johnson & Johnson) or a second shot (either Pfizer or Moderna).

Texas reported 2,859,892 total cases of coronavirus, an increase of 0.80% from the week before.

The five counties with the highest percentage of their population fully vaccinated in Texas as of April 20 are Cochran County (62%), Presidio County (51%), Jeff Davis County (41%), Starr County (40%) and Brewster County (37%).
