Cedar Creek Waterway to host holiday hike beginning Dec. 24

ABILENE, TX — Cedar Creek Waterway will host a holiday hike starting Dec. 24 and ending Jan. 2.

According to a Cedar Creek Waterway press release, the City of Abilene will release recycled water down the Cedar Creek Waterway during the week of the holiday hike.

Guests can bike, walk or kayak down the waterway, as well as social distance because of the space available.

There are several access points to the waterway. Guests can enter on East South 11th Street in Abilene, west of the American Legion. Parking is available at a vacant field and guests can enter through the gate next to the trailhead bulletin board.

Another access point is the South 7th Street bridge over the creek and guests can park along the street and the vacant lot northwest of the bridge, according to the release.
