ABILENE, TX — The Salvation Army of Abilene is “in quarantine” due to COVID cases.
A spokesperson said several clients currently staying at the shelter tested positive for COVID-19 on Thursday.
All Salvation Army staff and clients at the facility are being tested.
At this time, the shelter is not accepting new clients.
“We will continue to work closely with the CDC and City officials in the hope to identify an appropriate quarantine solution and plan,” said Shelley Futrelle with the Salvation Army.
Futrelle said the situation will “significantly impact” The Salvation Army Red Kettle campaign and upcoming Angel Tree distribution.
