Fort Worth, TX – According to the statement, the Fort Worth Zoo plans to vaccinate its primates, felids and canid species.

Officials say that they don’t have a timeline for when vaccinations will take place.

The second zoo that plans to vaccinate some of their animals is the Dallas Zoo.

Officials say that they’ve requested vaccine shipments to inoculate its big cat and ape species.

Both zoos will use the COVID-19 vaccine made for animals and donated by Zoetis, an animal health company.

Neither zoo has had any animals test positive for COVID-19.

Zoetis would donate more than 11,000 doses of the vaccine to nearly 70 zoos, as well as conservatories and other institutions across 27 states.

This story will be updated as new information become available.
