UH’s Cameron Tyson plans to transfer

HOUSTON, TX – University of Houston backup guard Cameron Tyson has entered the transfer portal, he announced Wednesday on Instagram.

Tyson, a sophomore from Bothell, Wash., averaged 6.2 points in 10.1 minutes per game. His 35 3-pointers were the third most on the team.

Tyson produced two of the top individual scoring performances of the season for the Cougars – 31 points and nine 3-pointers against Tulane and 32 points and school-record 10 3s against Our Lady of the Lake.“I would like to thank the city of Houston for welcoming a kid from Bothell, Washington with open arms,” Tyson wrote on Instagram. “I would like to thank my family for the endless support, my teammates for the many memories we made, my brothers (for life), and Coach (Kelvin) Sampson and his staff for not only making me a better basketball player but turning me into a better man.”
